How often should I clean the heater?

Clean every 2–4 weeks with a soft cloth. This prevents scale buildup and keeps heating efficiency high.

Why does my heater display a higher temperature than my aquarium thermometer?

The heater sensor measures the water around the heater, which may differ from other areas of the tank. Place it near water flow for even heat distribution. A heater only warms water and cannot reduce high tank temperatures.

Can I leave the heater in the tank during water changes?

Yes, but unplug it first if the water level drops below the minimum immersion line. If you need to remove the heater, turn it off 10 minutes in advance to let it cool down.

Can the heater touch the substrate?

No. Make sure the heater does not touch sand or gravel at the bottom. Uneven heat distribution may cause the glass to crack.

How deep should the heater be submerged?

The heater must always be at least 2 inches underwater (completely submerged). This prevents dry burning and damage from water evaporation.
